The San Juan Island Library provides community access to diverse and relevant collections, information resources, and services in support of individual educational, occupational, and recreational interests. The Library offers a welcoming place for community connection and promotes exploration of the joys of reading and of learning, while encouraging the discovery of life’s possibilities.
A total of 5 individuals serving rotating volunteer five-year terms comprise the library’s Board of trustees. The Board of Trustees focuses on setting library policy and meets with the library’s director on a monthly basis, usually at 4 pm on the second Tuesday of each month in the library’s meeting room.
All permanent residents of San Juan Island and their dependents qualify for a free library card. Patrons under 17 years old will be issued a youth card and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
